LGen (Ret’d) Alain Parent joined TACTIX on his retirement as A/Vice Chief of the Defence Staff (A/VCDS), the number two ranking officer of the Canadian Armed Forces. Alain brings strong international leadership and strategic planning and execution experience to bear on client engagements, having served 39 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, in command at every level. With ten years as a General Officer, Alain’s superior leadership and strategic capabilities were honed in roles that included Deputy Commander NORAD and NATO's Allied Joint Forces Command Naples.

As A/VCDS Alain was at the forefront of implementing the Government of Canada’s Defence Policy: Strong, Secured, Engaged. He directed the activity necessary to ensure departmental defence policy and strategic objectives were achieved, including corporate strategy management through objective analysis and advising on strategic planning options, procurement and resource allocations. He continues as a Senior Mentor and Joint Subject Matter Expert for NATO major exercises and the Comprehensive Operational Planning Course.

Alain spent his formative years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a helicopter pilot, amassing close to 5,000 hours, rising to become Commander of 1 Canadian Air Division. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and earned a master's degree with highest academic distinction in Strategic Studies from the USAF Air War College."
